Provision of the Core SDF Team

The SDF requires a small core team of technical and management experts in order to function. This team will be kept small and use local, Karachi or Sindh-based personnel as far as is possible. If international experts are required then they will be employed on short-term contracts or retainers. The role of the Core Team is to ensure the overall operational management of the Fund and to provide the necessary expertise to ensure the validity of the projects selected for investment. In addition the Core Team will include a Monitoring and Evaluation function that is needed to provide the necessary feedback.

Dissemination of new crop-technology & to extend advisory service to farming community. To ensure availability of quality input.

Working with Participating Financial Institutions

Many Financial Institutions (FIs) lack the expertise to enable investors to submit adequate business plans and other documentation required for loan approval. SDF will provide the necessary TA, both to assist the FIs and their clients.

Necessary Support Studies

SDF is seen as an operational implementing agency, not as a think tank or policy making body; its area of operations is in the commercial and investment world. Having said that, there may be instances in which specific studies are required to facilitate general interest in investing in a particular sub-sector. In this case the TA facility will work with and if necessary finance third-party experts or agencies (e.g., PHDEB or SMEDA or private consultancies) to undertake this work.
